The Burundi Film Center offers a variety of courses, subject to instructor availability. Since 2007, our students have learned about scriptwriting, cinematography, lighting, and post-production, with specialty courses offered on documentary filmmaking and animation.

Filmmaking 101

Our signature Film 101 course is a one-month intensive class that introduces students to the following key elements of producing a film:

Over the course of four weeks, all students will write a short film script - five of which are selected and produced into short films. View the films here.

Screenwriting: Masterclass (level 2)

Students who graduate from film 101, or who hold equivalent industry experience, can take a course of writing a feature film screenplay.
